Wow! It is interesting to know that the greatest threat to Coyotes are humans. This fact has been found out by several researchers. To adults the danger is minimal, however to kids it could be very dangerous. Since Coyotes are carnivores in nature, they could pose danger at any time, unfortunately, there are several roles played by human which might make Coyote dangerous. Some of them are:
Feeding of Coyotes:
A lot of individuals do not intentionally feed coyotes, however, the dropping around of food remains in garbage, or around residential areas. Though these remains are not the ones that lures Coyotes, however it lures rodents, squirrels, birds and other preys which Coyotes feeds on. In turn, luring the Coyotes to the environment where humans live. This could further result into the decrease in level of Coyotes’ fear for humans and in turn could make humans potential prey. To curb these, the environment should be kept clean at all times to prevent the presence of rodents around.
Running away from Coyotes:
When humans run away from Coyotes, they put themselves at risk and potential attack from the animal. Coyotes are calm, therefore once encountered. They should be waved away with the hands or shouted at. However, at period whereby it seems the animal is trying to secure a particular area, the individual should try all means of changing direction.
There various other ways of reducing the dangers that could be posed by Coyotes which includes:
